"Earth Mosaic Shawl"

How is everyone doing? :)
It seems like winter is really over and spring has come! We had lots of rain and I like it because it washed away terrible pollen in the air! I just wish we weren't sick! :(

I just wanted to introduce "Earth Mosaic Shawl" designed by Jennifer Hansen. I crocheted the photographed sample.
Earth Mosaic ShawlL
Designed by Jennifer Hansen, available as an online web bonus in Crochet! Magazine - March 2010:

This shawl is a beautiful outcome of the combination of hairpin lace and and regular crochet.

I have another shawl I finished, but haven't had the chance to take photos, AND it's too warm to wear it now so I have to wait until next winter to fully enjoy it. :( I'll take some photos soon though, I promise. :)

Another masterpiece of a shawl, Chie! I love the earthy look and how it blends with the natural brick wall ;)

This is one of the prettiest shawl designs I've ever seen. The colors go well with the design too!

Congratulations on your chance to test this pattern!

A very simple skateboarder beanie

My hubby who skateboards had been asking me to make him a simple beanie.
He wanted "small stitches with thin yarn" for his beanie so I was thinking about knitting it with stockinette stitch and sportweight yarn... But I just didn't feel like knitting or using sportweight yarn so I just started crocheting it with single crochet stitches and rather thin worsted weight Caron's Simply Soft hoping that he would like it.

He didn't like it, he said he loved it and it was exactly like how he wanted it to be! :) He went to show the beanie to some of his skateboard buddies as soon as it was done, and that made me happy. :)

Check out other crocheters beanies made with this pattern on Ravelry!
Anyways, I was relieved and thought maybe some of you may like to make one too. ;D
I used only chains and single crochet stitches.
I believe many of my visitors don't even need the pattern because it's really just basic hat pattern, and there may be similar one out t…

WIP - Tunisian crochet

Between other fun projects, I've been enjoying crocheting this Tunisian crochet piece so much!

The pattern I'm using is "Felted Entrelac Handbag" from Gourmet Crochet. Carolyn is one of my favorite crochet designers. I'm a big fan!
This one requires only a regular crochet hook because the rows are short, and it's just great.
I'm going to felt this after all the crocheting is done, and I can't wait. :) I believe I've never posted any felted project here before, but I did some felting last year, and I loved it. I think it's just perfect for bags.

This bag is such a quick project, and I'm hoping to finish it soon. :)
